Southwest
Florida Paranormal Investigations formerly Lee County Ghost Hunters
for organizing this event!
The Florida
Ghost Gathering was held for selected established paranormal groups
in Florida to come together to share their own personal experiences,
to have open round tables on certain topics , share evidence from
past investigations . We would like to recognize these groups as
well we enjoyed meeting them and have made a lot of new friends.

Speakers from various groups were there to educate other groups we
learned a lot from these presenters, the information provided will
help us in our research in the future and to be able to address any
media events coming our way. We would like to thank these

Here is a
brief report of what we experienced during our stay:
We arrived on
Friday August 3, 2007 and it was raining hard but we managed to get
checked-in and the equipment upstairs, Gregory from Spirit Team we
met first when we arrived he was in the hallway. As we were
finishing bringing equipment upstairs I felt like someone was
following behind me in the hallway real fast, I assumed it was one
of the painters trying to get back to work when I turned around no
one was there!
We were
instructed to meet in the sugar and spice room for dinner and to
meet and greet those who had arrived we had some great snacks that
night and we had plenty of food and drinks . We met and introduced
ourselves to other members who arrived we shared personal
experiences and why we had chosen to become involved in the
paranormal.
Morgan said
the investigation of the hotel would begin at 10pm so everyone went
to get their equipment and meet in upper porch , our group had
brought everything we had. Morgan gave us a brief history on the
hotel and where the activity had been reported we also watched a
movie clip as well they gave more insight to the paranormal activity
.
Reports of Activity
Rm 255 a
lady named Edna was a long time resident at the hotel for many years
,she died an awful death the belief is she died from a heart
condition but the official cause of death has not been validated .
She had tried to get help by trying to reach for the phone but never
made it .
They found
her in this position 3 days after she had passed . The room has been
reported to have objects thrown from the closet and bags from chairs
. A foul smell , and where the phone in the room would ring to the
down stairs desk when it was not even turned on or hooked up.
There is a
report of a lady who roams the hallway upstairs second floor
And sits on
the benches in the hall.
Room 118
Seems to have
high EMF readings that never change , there is rumors that someone
had been murdered in the room .
The phone in
the lobby of the hotel rings every night at 11:45 pm .
These
reported activities are what the staff had stated during interview
with Southwest Paranormal Investigations. They have conducted
investigations at this hotel prior to the Ghost Gathering. They
interviewed staff and have obtained some historical information .
The set up of
the wireless cameras took some time we wanted to make sure we had
everything positioned correctly we were experiencing technical
difficulties as well which was resolved but hindered us from doing
anything else the first night . Matt retired early , Rich and I
decided to take the handy camera , digital camera ,and digital voice
recorder to investigate the hotel and to see if I could sense
anything .
It was quiet
when we went I believe it was about 2am most everyone had turned in
for the night . I did a brief documentary on the handy cam which we
came to learn some of it was deleted or recorded over . But, getting
back on track here we entered the 255 room it was stuffy and smelled
of paint fumes from earlier on that day . Rich took some photos
while I was shooting with the handy cam I did not sense anything at
that time in this room . We did attempt to capture EVPs .
As we left
down the hallway we decided to go to the lobby and dining hall first
then we would go to kitchen . We took several photos in the lobby
area and down hallway to the Bar/Lounge area. It felt very serene
and peaceful in these areas I did not sense any paranormal
presences .
We proceeded
thorough the Sugar and Spice room to the Kitchen immediately upon
entering the kitchen I started to feel very uncomfortable , I
figured maybe I was just tired . We started to head to the pantry
area and it hit me hard there I felt like I did not want to be there
, I sensed someone had hurt themselves and was regretful of their
decision there was hostility and sadness .The room was very hot and
it made it hard for me to breath I had a heavy weighing feeling as
well.
****We
documented what I was feeling but this was either taped over or
deleted some how we are still trying to figure out just what
happened this would have been nice. *****
We went into
the dining room and that is when the handy cam went dead , now this
was a fully charged battery ! Rich took pictures as he looked over
to his left by the hostess stand he witnessed a shadow that moved
across to the other side of the room and disappeared I saw the same
thing . We went over to this area of the room to see if we could
find anything else but we did not , as we were leaving to go back to
our room , I saw a blonde woman sitting in a chair at one of the
tables as we went to flash our flashlight by there she was gone.
But we left
because we were tired we went to our room and retired for the
evening

Saturday
August 4, 2007
Rich woke up
before me we went down for breakfast to meet with the other founders
of the other groups we had good conversation and we talked about how
well this was going and that this is what these groups needed place
to share ideas and also coming together to help each other out .
We proceeded
to the upper porch to review some pictures we took and also to start
looking at video(which I might add we never reviewed video or audio
while we were there we are doing this now.) The presentations had
started so we attended as many as we could we did break for lunch
and then went back for more !
We presented
our some of our evidence at the evidence round table there was also
a drawing where we all won some neat gifts . We donated one of our
T-shirts .
After dinner
in the lounge which was very good, we all went back up to the upper
porch for the Psychic,
Sensitive, Clairvoyant Round Table.
The Spirit
Team did not know about the activity in the hotel they preferred not
to know ahead of time , Morgan suggested we split the groups in two
one group would start in room 118 and the other group would go to
room 255 then we would switch rooms when done meet back up at the
upper porch .
I had the
opportunity to go with members from the Haunted History Tours of New
Port Richey to room 118 I chose this room because I had no previous
knowledge of the activity or had been in this room the nite before.
Plus I had the room key ! LOL ! We went into the room and to our
surprise there were 3 Styrofoam balls on the bed . So I was careful
not to touch or move anything .
I began to
walk around the bed by the curtains and air conditioner while
waiting for others to come in I immediately started to feel the
presence of a older woman she was near the bed not in it but , next
to the end of the bed where sink was. I attempted to start
communicating
But became
distracted when the others came in so I moved away from the area to
other side of bed near bathroom and door.
The others
began to immediately feel her presence as well , I asked Richard to
move near the bathroom he had handy cam and was taken off guard by
the misquotes in the bathroom he said it was weird because you could
not hear them buzzing like you normally do.
We asked the
spirit to make her presence known by moving something in the room ,
anything even the Styrofoam balls. Or give us the scent of roses
within a few seconds I received a strong odor of roses I asked the
others if they smelt it as well. We repeated to have something moved
in the room even a tap on the wall . Shortly there was a tap by the
head board but we were not sure if this was from anyone in the next
room.
But, it did
not sound like the next room and Richard even confirmed this. I also
felt like someone was pressing down on my hand that was facing
Styrofoam ball near me that I was trying to get this presence to
move.
I was asked
if I had a name Ethel came to me and then age of 78 years,
This presence
seemed to amused with our presence in the room to care about moving
objects she seemed to find it ridiculous . We attempted some more
tries but were becoming weak our selves she was draining us.
So we thanked
her and proceeded to Room 255 but, before this we went to the phone
area in the lobby to see if the phone would ring , on our way
Gregory, Chris, and Grant stated that the phone actually rings at
10:45 pm not 11:45pm as we were told , being confused we still left
and went there. Morgan states the manager stated 10:45pm so we
waited but the phone never rang this is when we left and went to
Room 255.
Now I am
being truthful when I say the only feeling I had was in the bathroom
like someone was watching us in the bedroom , but that is all I
sensed ! The others said the same ! It was also very humid but, air
conditioning was coming under the door which I mistaking at first
for a cold spot. Silly me ! We left shortly because they had begun
to meet back in the upper porch .
Well what the
Spirit Team reported was totally different they sensed a couple in
118 presence of a young couple.
Rm 255 they
sensed the presence of a woman who had been strangled
But, they did
not sense this in the bedroom mainly in the living room area.
We all sensed
the same thing for the Kitchen we were dead on with this so that
made me feel good. And I loved working with the Spirit Team and New
Port Richey groups.
Well then we
did our second investigation around the hotel we mainly focused on
setting up the cameras and decided not to disturb the kitchen, lobby
areas. We did not go into the bedrooms either and let the digital
voice recorder go all nite in Room 255 .
We all went
to bed at 4:30 am
Sunday August
5, 2007
We met down
stairs for final thoughts and to say goodbye
Over all it
went very well and we all decided we want to work together some
more. We said our goodbyes after breakfast we headed out about
12:00pm .
