You will find out when you just start out doing paranormal Investigations that you will want to take all the equipment with you. But I recommend take-in at first just a (digital) cameras, flashlights, cell phone, (digital) recorder Because most all households have equipment laying around. Oh hey lots of extra batteries recommend (rechargeable) the last thing You don't wanted is to run out of good batteries  Once you've done a investigations you will want to buy all kinds of equipment all I have to say is careful. You can easy spend hundreds of Dollars. Please before you buy all the equipment make sure this is what you like to do. Remember most paranormal investigators do NOT charge for their services.
